The new line 11
28. Juli 2021
City Line 11 (“Oelf”) has started. It runs every ten minutes on Saturdays between 11:00 a.m. and 6:00 p.m. The ride is free and the train runs clockwise as a ring line through the city. That means: the trams start at the Bürgerpark and travel from there via the main station and the "Schüsselkorb" to the Domsheide. It continues through Obernstraße and Am Brill to Radio Bremen and via Falkenstraße back in the direction of the main station and Bürgerpark. A full tour with the ring line takes just under 20 minutes.
With its frequent ten-minute intervals and short travel times, the new tram line is part of the promotion of the inner city. The city should be easier to reach, especially from the main train station, and make the route to the city center more attractive . With the aim of promoting the inner city, the transport authority, under Bremen's mobility senator Dr. Maike Schaefer, over the past few weeks creating the new connection.
