City lights

After the impressive success of the light illuminations on historic buildings in the city of Bremen last Advent, the CityInitiative is organizing “Lights of the City” for the third time. Starting on January 1, 2023, atmospheric light shows will once again be moving into the living room under the motto "Glimpses of Light". The town hall, the Schütting, the regional court, the Bremer Landesbank, Am Wall, Our Lady Church, Obernstrasse, Schnoor and Sögestrasse are among the places that will be there.

Visitors can marvel at the colorfully staged buildings every day from 4:30 p.m. Due to the current energy crisis, the daily lighting time is reduced by one hour, very complex projection surfaces that require a large number of projectors are avoided, the event period is limited to a good two weeks and the event runs on 100% green electricity, i.e. without gas power generation . In this way, around 45% of energy can be saved per day, while at the same time a positive sign is given in the crisis that people are happy.
